Bangalore, 5th March 2001 - Quizbrain.com, India's first comprehensive knowledge portal integrating learning and fun has been nominated in the 'Impact Award for Charitable Contribution to the Net Community' category at the Internet World Asia Industry Awards, 2001. Quizbrain.com is an affiliate of Indiainfo.com-the Gateway to India for Indians across the globe.

Quizbrain.com has successfully used quizzing as an alternate education tool to create IT awareness in urban and rural areas across India. In association with TATA Consultancy Services, Quizbrain has compiled and hosted many IT quiz shows across India integrating online and offline community while enhancing IT awareness.

The Rural IT quiz was an initiative of the Government of Karnataka and Bangalore IT.com2000 in collaboration with TATA Consultancy Services to take IT beyond the urban limits. The effort was a huge success with over 34,000 children from across the state participating in the quiz.

Other nominees in this category are Smehome.com, Iandisaisa.com and i100crop.com.

The Internet World Asia Industry Awards will be announced at the Ritz Carlton Singapore on March 8th 2001. According to event organizers, more than 900 entries were submitted for this year's Awards, short-listing 74 finalists vying for top spots in 15 categories.

The Awards are the highest honour for Internet companies and professionals throughout the region, dubbed by the TIME Magazine as "Asia's Internet Oscars".
